Ugandan champions Vipers SC have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Nigerian winger Odili Chukwuma.

The 23-year-old joins the seven-time Uganda Premier League and four-time Uganda Cup winners from Rwanda Police FC on a two-year deal that will keep him at Kitende until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.

“I have been hearing about Vipers SC and now that l have joined, I’m happy to be here. By God’s grace, we will achieve great things. I will do my absolute best for this club,” said an excited Chukwuma.

Flying winger

Chukwuma is expected to add incisiveness and creativity to the Venoms’ flanks, thanks to his pinpoint crosses, blistering pace, and eye for goal.

Last season, he played a pivotal role as Rwanda Police FC secured a fourth-place finish in the Rwanda Premier League with 45 points. In that campaign, Chukwuma registered eight assists and scored five goals, underlining his attacking credentials.

Before his stint at Police FC, he featured for Bugesera FC, another side in Rwanda’s top flight.

Fantastic four

He becomes Vipers’ fourth signing in the ongoing transfer window, joining Liberian forward Mark Yallah, DR Congo’s Kevin Dasylva Bady, and midfield maestro Enock Ssebaggala, as coach Fred Muhumuza and John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda continue to shape a squad capable of defending their domestic crown and competing strongly in the CAF Champions League, Uganda Cup, Super Cup, and FUFA Super 8 tournaments.

Chukwuma is expected to compete for a starting berth on the wing alongside established stars such as skipper Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu as the Venoms seek to sharpen their attack ahead of the new season.
