THE MATCH RESULT

Vipers SC 3–0 Express FC

38’ Enock Ssebaggala

66’ Allan Okello

69’ Isaac Ogwang

Vipers SC delivered a polished and dominant performance on Wednesday at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, brushing aside Express FC 3–0 to extend their perfect start to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season.

From the first whistle, the reigning champions controlled tempo, probed the Red Eagles’ defence, and executed with ruthless efficiency.

Fast Start, Clinical Finish

Express began with intent, pressing high and seeking an early breakthrough. Mikidadi Ssenyonga curled a free kick just wide in the ninth minute, while Muhammad Ssenoga’s header moments later also threatened. But Vipers’ defence and goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza were alert, repelling danger and slowly letting the champions settle.

The breakthrough came in the 38th minute. Enock Ssebaggala capitalised on a failed clearance to tap in the opener, handing Vipers deserved control. A late first-half volley from Richard Basangwa struck the crossbar, but the Venoms’ lead remained intact at the break.

Second-Half Surge

After the interval, Vipers shifted up a gear. Allan Okello doubled the advantage in the 66th minute, finishing a defence-splitting pass from Usama Arafat Kiza.

Just three minutes later, Isaac Ogwang netted after Okello’s clever setup, sealing a commanding 3–0 win.

Implications & Standings

The victory lifts Vipers to fourth place with a perfect 12 points from four matches.

Express remain 10th on nine points from eight outings, leaving questions about consistency unanswered.

What’s Next

Vipers now look ahead to Saturday’s gigantic fixture against SC Villa — a potential early-season showdown. The message is clear: confidence, clinical execution, and relentless pursuit of perfection remain the Venoms’ mantra.
