Game: Vipers SC v Police FC

Date: Friday, October 23rd, 2026

Time: 8PMĀ

Venue: St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende

Vipers SC will be looking to maintain their upward trajectory in the Uganda Premier League when they host Police FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Friday, October 23, under the floodlights at 8pm.

The Venoms head into the fixture buoyed by a fairly decent run of results and will be eager to make home advantage count against a Police outfit that has endured an inconsistent start to the campaign.

Having recovered from their opening-day setback, Denis Lavagne’s side have gradually gathered momentum, demonstrating considerable attacking efficiency while maintaining defensive solidity.

The eight-time league champions have collected 10 points from their opening five matches, registering three wins, one stalemate and a solitary defeat to occupy fifth place in the standings.

Their attacking prowess has been particularly encouraging, with 13 goals scored and only two conceded, leaving the Kitende-based outfit with an impressive goal difference of +11.

Friday’s assignment offers another opportunity to strengthen their position in the championship race and sustain the momentum generated in recent outings.

Police, meanwhile, arrive at Kitende seeking to arrest a difficult run that has left them 12th on the table with seven points from six encounters.

The Cops have managed two victories and a draw alongside three defeats, scoring four goals while conceding 10.

Their defensive struggles will undoubtedly face a stern examination against a Vipers attack that has been increasingly ruthless in front of goal.

At the top of the standings, BUL FC lead the way with 19 points from seven fixtures, while SC Villa and NEC FC follow on 14 points each.

Although the Venoms currently sit nine points behind the leaders, they have played two matches fewer, making every opportunity to collect maximum points particularly important.

Head-to-Head: Vipers Hold the Upper Hand

History provides further encouragement for the hosts, who have established a commanding record against Police in their recent Uganda Premier League encounters.

Vipers are undefeated in their previous five league meetings with the Cops, recording four victories and one draw.

The two sides last faced off on May 12, 2026, when they settled for a goalless draw at Police’s home ground.

Earlier in that campaign, however, the Venoms delivered an emphatic performance at Kitende, dispatching Police 4-1 on January 27.

The preceding season also witnessed Vipers complete a league double over the Cops, winning 2-1 at Kitende in October 2024 before securing a narrow 1-0 away triumph in March 2025.

Their dominance stretches further back to May 2022, when the Venoms registered a comprehensive 5-0 victory.
