Vipers Sports Club is delighted to announce the appointment of John Luyinda alias ‘Ayala’ as in-charge of the first team.

Luyinda has wealth of experience, having previously worked in the Uganda Premier League in coaching roles at Wakiso Giants FC, KCCA FC, Police FC and Vipers SC where he served as assistant to Abdallah Mubiru in 2016.

Ayala re-joined the Venoms technical bench manned by then Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazovic as an assistant coach in 2024 before co-coaching the team with Fred Muhumuza and most recently served as Denis Lavagne’s assistant.

His experience and tactical acumen will be invaluable as Vipers look to continue improving and fight to defend the title.

During his days as a footballer, Luyinda featured for Kampala United, Maji FC, SC Villa, and KCCA FC.

Ayala played a big part in helping the Venoms to a domestic double (Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup) alongside Muhumuza in 2025, before serving as Ivan Minnaert’s assistant last season, guiding the team to another League title.

Ayala, said: “Having the responsibility to lead Vipers SC is an honour.

“I know what it takes to succeed here; my focus is now on helping the players to reach the standards that we expect at this incredible club, which we know that this group is more than capable of producing.

“I have worked with a number of the players already and I have total belief in their talents, dedication and ability to be successful here.

“There is still a lot to fight for this season, we are ready to pull everyone together and give the fans the performances that their loyal support deserves.”
