Champions: Vipers JT (third title, joint-most with BUL)

Final played at FUFA Kadiba Stadium, Mengo

The season has started on a brilliant note for Vipers SC, whose youth system continues to prove its worth. The Junior Team reclaimed the 2025 FUFA Juniors League title after edging BUL Junior Team 2-1 in a tense final at FUFA Kadiba Stadium, Mengo, on Wednesday.

The victory ended BUL’s recent dominance and restored Vipers to the summit of youth football, with the two sides now tied as the tournament’s most successful clubs on three titles apiece.

Pound for pound

After a cautious first half where both teams failed to take their chances, the match sparked into life in the second stanza. Vipers’ in-form forward Arafat Nkoola stole the show with a decisive brace.

He opened the scoring in the 58th minute, latching onto a cross from Marvin Kabiito before BUL replied almost immediately through a penalty converted by Ivan Maturu, the competition’s top scorer.

But Nkoola was not done. Just six minutes later, the striker rose above BUL’s defence to power in a header from Harunah Kisakye’s beautiful cross that would ultimately prove to be the winner.

No late comeback

Despite a spirited late surge from the defending champions, Vipers’ rearguard stood firm to seal the title.

This triumph brings the trophy back to St Mary’s Kitende for the first time since Vipers’ last success, underscoring the academy’s role as the engine room of the club’s wider ambitions—particularly as the senior team also chases silverware on multiple fronts, including the CAF Champions League campaign that began with victory in Cape Town, South Africa against Namibia’s African Stars FC.

With the balance of power in the FUFA Juniors League now level, the rivalry between Vipers and BUL promises to intensify in the coming seasons.
