As the 2025/26 football season approaches, Vipers SC are ramping up their preparations with a series of high-profile pre-season friendlies designed to test the squad’s readiness.
The spotlight will first shine on a demanding double-header against Rwanda’s Gorilla FC, scheduled for Tuesday (August 19th) and Thursday (August 21st) next week at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

These back-to-back matches offer head coach Ivan Jacky Minnaert a crucial chance to fine-tune tactics, build team chemistry, and assess player fitness ahead of a busy season.
Following the Gorilla FC encounters, the Venoms will travel to Rwanda for a challenging clash against Tanzanian giants Azam FC on August 29th at the Kigali Pele Stadium.

Known as one of East Africa’s strongest sides, Azam will provide a stern test that will further reveal Vipers’ readiness for both domestic battles and continental competition.
Curtain raiser
This fixture will also serve as a final tune-up before the team embarks on the CECAFA Kagame Cup campaign in Dar es Salaam from September 2nd to 15th, where 12 top regional teams will compete for the prestigious title.
Vipers are gearing up for a packed calendar this season, featuring the Uganda Premier League, Uganda Cup, Super Cup, CECAFA Kagame Cup, and the CAF Champions League.

These friendlies will be vital not only for sharpening team dynamics but also for giving new signings such as Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Odili Chukwuma, Enock Ssebagala, and Taddeo Lwanga valuable minutes on the pitch, helping them integrate into the squad smoothly.

With focus and determination, Vipers SC are set to step into the new season confident, prepared, and ready to compete on all fronts.
