StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, Vipers Sports Club, are thrilled to announce the signing of Usama Arafat Kiza, one of the brightest young talents in Ugandan football, on a three-year contract.

The 21-year-old winger, who has been widely tipped as a future star of Ugandan football, joins the Venoms following the expiry of his contract at traditional rivals KCCA FC.

His move represents Vipers’ seventh signing in the current transfer window, underlining the club’s ambition to dominate both domestically and on the continental stage.

Numbers that matter

Usama arrives with a glowing CV and the numbers to back it up. At KCCA, he consistently stood out as an attacking threat, contributing seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances last season, after recording 10 goals and six assists the previous campaign across league and other competitions.

His influence extends beyond club football. He captained Uganda’s U-20 side to a silver medal at the 2024 All-Africa Games in Accra, before breaking into the senior Uganda Cranes squad, where he already boasts 11 competitive appearances. He was also part of the 2025 CHAN team that stormed into the quarterfinals.

Healthy competition awaits

At Kitende, the left-footed dynamo will face healthy competition from established stars like club captain Milton Karisa, Odili Chukwuma, Robin Kane Hney, and others, further sharpening his game in what promises to be an action-packed season for the Venoms.

Usama becomes the latest addition to our new-look squad, joining fellow recruits Hney, Chukwuma, Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Taddeo Lwanga, Ashraf Mandela and Enock Ssebaggala.

Usama said: “I’m really excited to be joining Vipers SC, one of the top clubs in Uganda. To me, signing for Vipers SC means joining a big football family with ambition and a winning mentality.”

“It’s an opportunity to challenge myself at the highest level in Uganda, compete for trophies, and represent the club in continental football. It also means growth for me as a player, gaining more exposure, and contributing to the legacy of a team that has achieved alot.”

“I’m eager to get started, train hard, and make a positive impact for Vipers SC. The support of the fans, the club’s management, and my teammates will be crucial in making this a successful tenure.”

Vipers SC warmly welcomes Usama Arafat Kiza to the Venoms family. His creativity, flair, and determination are expected to add another dimension to our attacking arsenal as we chase glory at home and abroad.

Usama will wear his favourite number 27 shirt and will join up with his teammates after this Friday’s CAF Champions League match against Namibia’s African Stars FC.
