Switching Focus To Cup Glory

With the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) title race heating up, Vipers SC now temporarily switch their guns to the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The Venoms will be at home under the floodlights this Saturday as they take on defending champions Kitara FC in what promises to be a thrilling first-leg encounter.

The Red and Black are aiming to reclaim the Cup they last won in 2022/23, while Kitara are hoping to defend the crown they secured in dramatic fashion last season.

Knockout Battles

This will be the second consecutive season that Vipers and Kitara face off in the Uganda Cup. Last year, Kitara edged Vipers in a dramatic quarterfinal via a 5-4 penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw.

Yunus Sentamu and Bright Anukani were on target for the Venoms in that thriller.In league play this season, the two sides played out a goalless draw at Kitende.

However, Vipers enjoyed a double over Kitara in the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season, winning 2-1 at home and 2-0 away.

Hunt For Fourth Title

Vipers are targeting their fourth Uganda Cup title, having previously lifted the trophy in:

With an impressive Cup pedigree, the Venoms will be banking on their knockout experience, defensive steel, and attacking firepower to take an advantage into the second leg in Hoima.
