Vipers SC and Express FC will lock horns yet again this season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, as we visit the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Friday, April 11th, 2025.
The Venoms are pursuing a seventh League championship, which will put them level with Express FC, as the third successful team in the competition’s history, in terms of titles won.

We sit at the summit of the Uganda Premier League log, having garnered 52 points in 22 matches. We’re a point ahead of runner-up NEC FC, who beat Kitara FC 2-1 on Thursday night.
Last time out last week, we were 1-0 victors over Lugazi FC, thanks to Karim Watambala’s solitary goal.

Coach Fred Muhumuza has ensured our squad takes each game as it comes and called upon his charges not to take Express FC lightly.
“Another hectic week but we look at game for game. But like l keep saying, it’s nolonger a marathon but a sprint.” explained Muhumuza.

“Every game that you finish is a long gone. You only have to now focus on the other game. We’ve been working hard and the lads are in high moods. Remember we’re playing Express, one of the big clubs in the Ugandan history. We’ll put up a very good fight and we don’t look at where they stand on the table, but we look at how they have actually performed in the second round.”
Meanwhile, Express sit 10th on the log with 28 points. They lost 1-0 to Maroons FC in their most recent game.

At the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in the first round, we were emphatic 3-0 winners over the Red Eagles, thanks to a Milton Karisa brace and one from Fumador Asiwome.
Vipers hold the lion’s share of victories in this fixture, with 12 wins since the 2012/13 season. Express have managed four victories while eight matches have ended in shared spoils.

Vipers and Express will be meeting for the 39th time in Uganda’s league history since 2006 when the Venoms joined the top-flight division. We have won 18, drawn 12 and lost eight (8) with a return of 45 goals against 27.
