UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Thursday’s Result
Police FC 0-1 Vipers SC
Vipers SC tightened their grip on the lead of the table following a crucially important 1-0 victory over Police FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match played on Thursday, at the Kavumba Recreation Center.
Yunus Sentamu’s solitary goal was enough for the Venoms to earn all the available points away from home, to move to 46 points, six ahead of runner-up NEC FC, who visit Wakiso Giants FC on Friday.

Sentamu tucked in a properly weighted pass from the day’s skipper Allan Okello, after brilliant orchestration from young left-back Enock Luyima in the early stages of the serving half.
The result made it eight successive victories away from home for the Venoms. It also made it 18 games without defeat for the six-time holders. Further, the 1-0 scoreline indicated that Vipers have now kept seven consecutive clean-sheets in the League.

On the evening, it could have been an even bigger scoreline for Vipers had we been more clinical. Paul Patrick Mbowa’s shot earlier in the game missed the target but a whisker.
Karim Watambala, Allan Okello, Moses Waiswa and Gusto Mulongo all had decent chances to extend the lead, but could not breach Mathias Muwanga’s goal.

Vipers will return to league action on March 15th when they host Wakiso Giants at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende under the floodlights.
