Mbale Heroes FC 0-4 Vipers SC
Vipers SC rounded off the year 2024 in style, following an impressive 4-0 victory over Mbale Heroes FC in the Uganda Premier League on Friday, at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
A brace apiece from skipper Milton Karisa and midfielder Allan Okello ensured that the Venoms picked three maximum points against the Surgeons on the latter’s turf.
Victory ensured that Vipers will enter the festive season and the new year on top of the Uganda Premier League table, having accumulated 28 points in 13 games.
On the evening in Mbale, Vipers opened the day’s account through a Karisa header, off a superb cross from veteran right-back Nicholas Wadada in the 10th minute.
Despite extended dominance, the opening half only ended with one goal to Vipers’ good. A minute into the second stanza, Okello grabbed his maiden goal of the evening with a brilliant hit past goalkeeper Paul Mujampwani.
In the 73rd minute, Okello completed his double with another well-taken shot past the onlooking Mujampwani.
Three minutes later, Karisa made it two to his name and four for the Venoms, to round off a memorable evening in the East.
Following the win, Vipers will now take a two-week break, and will return to Uganda Premier League action on January 3 as they make a visit to the Bombo Military Grounds to take on UPDF FC.
