UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Saturday’s Result
Soltilo Bright Stars 1-2 Vipers SC
Vipers SC ascended to the top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table, following a 2-1 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Kavumba Recreation Center on Saturday.
Forward Gusto Mulongo and attacking midfielder Allan Okello were on target to ensure maximum points for the Venoms on the road. The result took us to 24 points at the summit, one ahead of runners-up NEC FC.

Following a dominant start by Vipers, Mulongo finished off a corner from Moses Waiswa, after it had been poorly dealt with by goalkeeper Shamulan Kamya.
In quick succession, Okello made it 2-0 four minutes later, superbly finishing off a Karim Watambala cutback, after brilliant team-play.

It should have been three for Vipers two minutes later, but Milton Karisa’s freekick was denied by the crossbar.
A minute later, Karisa was denied from point-blank range by Shamulan Kamya, having been put through by Okello.

At the half-hour mark, the hosts pulled one back through defender Warren Buule, having struck in a loose ball past goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu.
Bright Stars nearly made it two in the second half, but Nelson Senkatuka’s shot met the crossbar, as the Venoms maintained their lead.

While the home side kept the threat, Vipers impeccably managed the game, as they eventually grinded out three points at a tricky ground.
Vipers will now return to action next Saturday, as they play host to BUL FC at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
