UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Friday’s Result
URA FC 0-2 Vipers SC
Vipers SC moved to the summit of the Uganda Premier League log following a comfortable 2-0 victory over URA FC at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Friday.
The win took the Venoms to 20 points, one and two ahead of second and third-placed NEC FC and KCCA FC, respectively.

The victory was also a continuation of the club’s fine form, having gone eight games without defeat. In that spell, we have picked six victories and two stalemates.
Meanwhile, skipper Milton Karisa and playmaker Allan Okello scored to ensure the win against the Tax Collectors with the two enjoying blistering form in the ongoing campaign.

Both players took their tallies to seven goal contributions apiece, with Karisa on five goals and two assists, while Okello has managed six strikes with an assist.
On the evening at the heart of the capital city, Vipers exhumed absolute dominance from start to finish. We, however, failed to score in the first half, despite a number of goal-scoring opportunities.

In the second stanza, Yunus Sentamu was denied by a Denis Otim fine save, following a brilliant through ball from Karim Watambala in the 51st minute.
Four minutes later, Karisa netted from a tight angle past Otim, after the backline had unsuccessfully blocked Okello’s shot.

In the 65th minute, Okello finished off a beautiful counterattack that he initiated with a fine run from deep, heading sumptuously from Karisa’s cross.
Substitute Abubakar Lawal nearly made it three in the latter stages of the game, but his header was cleared off the line by Otim.

Vipers will now turn their attention to Kitara FC, when the two meet on Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende floodlights.
