Vipers SC will seek to extend their perfect start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season at home, when they play hosts to Police FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday.
The Venoms have been victorious in the first two home games of the campaign, comfortably beating Express FC 3-0, and edging out defending champions SC Villa 2-1 last time out.
Overall this season, Vipers have managed victories on three occasions, while we have recorded a stalemate and defeat, to Lugazi FC (0-0) and NEC FC (3-1), respectively.
The Kitende-side thus sit third on the Uganda Premier League log with 10 points in five matches. On the other hand, Police, who are still unbeaten, have seven points in ninth.
Meanwhile, the last time the two sides met in competitive action, witnessed Vipers emerge 1-0 victors in the 2022/23 Stanbic Uganda Cup final, courtesy of Milton Karisa.
Their most recent meeting in the Uganda Premier League was in the 2021/22 season, where Vipers were dominant 5-0 winners, as we got crowned champions that year.
Vipers and Police have met 19 times previously in the league. We hold the lion’s share of victories at 12, with three stalemates, while Police have won four times.
