Thursday’s Result

Wakiso Giants FC 0-2 Vipers SC

Vipers SC picked maximum points for the second game running in the Uganda Premier League after a 2-0 victory over Wakiso Giants FC at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Thursday.

Goals from playmaker Allan Okello and skipper Milton Karisa ensured the first three points this season on the road for the Venoms.

Okello struck from the spot in the 34th minute, sending goalkeeper James Alitho the wrong way, after the latter had brought Karisa to the deck in the box.

Three minutes after the hour-mark, Vipers added a second as Karisa pounced on a Yunus Sentamu pass, after Wakiso Giants defenders failed to clear an effort from Okello.

Vipers had opportunities to make the scoreline bigger, but Okello and Karisa were denied by blocks from the Wakiso Giants backline.

Hillary Mukundane’s goal-bound header in the second half off a Moses Waiswa corner, was brilliantly saved by custodian Alitho.

Meanwhile, the result momentarily took the Kitende team top of the Uganda Premier League log after five games, with 10 points.

Vipers will hope to keep the momentum in their next outing when they host Police FC next week on October 25th at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
