2024 FUFA SUPER 8 FINAL
Tomorrow at 8pm
Vipers SC v BUL FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
Vipers SC will be keen on winning their second Fufa Super 8 trophy, when they battle defending champions BUL FC in the 2024 final at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday.
In their previous final, the Venoms won the second edition of the tournament in 2019 when they beat KCCA FC 2-0, courtesy of a Fahad Bayo brace on his debut.
On the other hand, Bul clinched the most recent edition in 2023, as they emerged top in a penalty shootout against URA FC.
Both teams will be eager to add a second, and thus etch their name in the history as the biggest winners (most decorated) of the Super 8 title.
In the lead to the final, Vipers dumped out NEC FC in the first round by virtue of the Away goals rule, having tied 1-1 over two legs.
Our skipper Milton Karisa, who scored against NEC in the second leg has called on the team to battle harder than their opponents if they expect victory.
“We will have to give them a fight, if we fight more than them, we can win the game,” Milton Karisa told the club media.
The Nikola Kavazovic – coached side then eliminated the Uganda Cranes Select team following a 1-0 win, thanks to Allan Okello’s sole goal in Lugogo.
Meanwhile, BUL got the better of Maroons FC and Kitara FC in the respective preceding rounds to hit the final.
Last season in the Uganda Premier League, BUL emerged victorious over the Venoms, winning 3-2 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, and edging it 1-0 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
However, overall Vipers are ahead in the head-to-head, having won 16 times, drawn on six occasions and lost just four times, scoring 37 goals against 20 in the previous 25 league encounters between the two clubs.
