Following Friday’s goalless draw, Vipers SC and NEC FC will yet again tussle it out for a semifinal spot in the 2024 Fufa Super 8 tournament second leg.

The two sides will meet at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday with one side guaranteed a semifinal finish.

Vipers will be hoping to rediscover their mojo that was lacking in the first leg at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, as they were found wanting in possession, with minimal threat to the opposition.

Against NEC on Friday, forwards, Gusto Mulongo, Kenneth Kimera and playmaker Allan Okello showed glimpses of the danger they pose, and they will be eager to find the execution touch this time round.

Meanwhile, the Venoms will be keen on staying compact and solid at the back, with hopes of a third clean-sheet in as many matches.

It should be recalled that we also stayed unscathed in the international friendly against Kenya Police FC, as we won 2-0 a fortnight back.

Team News:

Vipers will welcome back Serbian head coach Nikola Kavazovic on the touchline, as he missed the first leg through illness.

Nicholas Wadada won’t be available as he has a problem with his right eye.

Congolese forward Gusto Mulongo is out of this return leg tie after contracting malaria over the weekend.
