FUFA SUPER 8 TOURNAMENT
Friday, 02, 2024 | 8pm
Vipers SC v NEC FC
St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende
Vipers SC will hope to reclaim the Fufa Super 8 trophy that has eluded them since 2019, with NEC FC as their first hurdle in the journey.
For the first leg, the two sides will lock horns in what promises to be a pulsating tie, under the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende floodlights on Friday.Â

The Venoms finished third in the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League season which presented an automatic tie with NEC who clinched the fourth spot.
Nikola Kavazovic’s Venoms will be keen on assuming the tie advantage, before the return leg slated for August 6, at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

It should be recalled that last season in the league, Vipers were emphatic 4-1 victors over NEC in Kitende, courtesy of Yunus Sentamu and a Fumador Asiwome hat-trick.
However, it ended in a barren stalemate at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo in the second round.
Vipers enter tomorrow’s game in high spirits after their 2-0 win over Kenya Police FC. New recruits Kenneth Kimera and Gusto Mulongo were on the scoresheet in the Saturday international friendly.

Still at the St Mary’s Stadium tomorrow, Maroons FC will play defending champions BUL FC, in what will be the first match of the day at 5pm.
Elsewhere, Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa will face a Uganda Cranes Select Team while KCCA FC will battle with Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC on Saturday.
