Vipers Sports Club have continued their squad strengthening operations with the acquisition of talented young forward Issa Bugembe.

The 19-year-old has joined the Kitende doors from Uganda Premier League side Soltilo Bright Stars FC after the expiration of his contract, where he has spent over two seasons.

He has been netted down to a four-year employment contract with the Venoms that could run until the end of the 2027/28 season.

Bugembe is also a student at St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School,  Kitende (SMASK), which is a close affiliate and a feeder-side to Vipers SC.

He was part of the SMASK team that played and finished third at the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Associations (USSSA) championships in Masaka, subsequently qualifying to the East African games to be hosted in Uganda.

The physically stout player has also formerly featured for Royal Giants High School in Mityana, a team he also represented in the national schools championships in 2022.

Bugembe has also previously represented Uganda at various Youth level sides, including the U15, U17 and the U20.

He joins in with immense expectations, given ability and versatility, as he can operate both as an attacking midfielder and a striker.

Bugembe has become our fourth signing of the current transfer window, after Derrick Ndahiro, Pedro Honjo Chimbiambiulo alias Sukuya and youngster Kenneth Kimera.

Welcome to Vipers SC, Bugembe!
