Busoga United 1-2 Vipers SC

Vipers SC pushed the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title race to the final day of the season after a crucial 2-1 victory over Busoga United at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Tuesday.

Goals from skipper Milton Karisa and young forward Abdul Nsereko granted the Venoms three points on the day. Bashamu Mugwa scored Busoga’s consolation.

The six-time champions are now third on the log with 53 points, one behind leaders SC Villa, who beat URA FC 2-1 at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

On evening, Karisa broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute after getting at the end of a superb Allan Okello cross to tap home.

Mugwa then levelled matters in the 66th minute to give Vipers a scare, before the latter pulled a second in the 68th minute through Nsereko.

Vipers will wrap up the campaign with a home bout against Mbarara City FC on Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Fellow title challengers Villa will visit NEC FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, while second-placed BUL FC will be guests at Busoga United in Njeru. Fourth-placed Kitara FC will host Gaddafi FC in Masindi.
