STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Saturday’s Result
NEC FC 0-0 Vipers SC
Vipers SC played out a non-eventful barren StarTimes Uganda Premier League stalemate with NEC FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.
The result, implied that the Venoms lost a bit of ground in the chase for the 2023/24 championship, albeit, with no hope lost as there are two match-days left.
We now sit fourth on the Uganda Premier League table with 50 points accumulated after 27 matches. We are two points adrift of leaders BUL FC, who edged Gaddafi FC 1-0.
Kitara FC who beat Busoga United 3-2 and SC Villa who defeated UPDF FC 2-0, sit second and third, respectively, with 51 points, apiece.
Meanwhile, on the evening in Lugogo, the game was starved of clear goal-scoring opportunities, with both goalkeepers not facing any substantial threat.
Vipers’ only real chance came in the 87th minute, but substitute Eric Kenzo Kambale struck wide after being set through by playmaker Allan Okello.
Richard Wasswa’s charges will now return to league action on Tuesday as they visit strugglers Busoga United in Jinja.
