STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

Tuesday’s Result

Vipers SC 1-1 Maroons FC

Vipers SC moved back to the top of the Uganda Premier League table after a one-all stalemate with Maroons FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Tuesday.

The draw moved us to 46 points in 24 matches, the same as runners-up BUL FC,  and two ahead of third-placed Kitara FC.

Substitute Milton Karisa scored for the Venoms, while a Hilary Mukundane own-goal handed Maroons a point.

It was tightly contested for the entire 90, with both sides having chances to nick a lot more than just a point under the floodlights.

Each of Allan Okello, Mohamed Salem and Yunus Sentamu had decent chances to add to Vipers’ evening’s tally, but they came short on all occasions.

Our goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza was called into action a couple of times to deny Abraham Tusubira Kakensa and Darius Ojok.

Following the stalemate, Vipers will return to action against fellow title challengers BUL FC, on Wednesday next week, at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
