The Date: April 19th, 2024
The Contest: Kitara FC vs. Vipers SC
The Time: 4pm
The Venue: Masindi Stadium

Vipers SC will leapfrog Kitara FC at the top of the Uganda Premier League should they manage victory over the latter, in what promises to be a mouthwatering tie at the Masindi Stadium on Friday.

The Venoms, who are third with 42 points (22 games) are only two adrift of the Royals (23 games), the former’s win will warrant a spot at the summit.

Tomorrow’s tie presents a repeat of Sunday’s Stanbic Uganda Cup contest, which ended with Kitara hitting the semifinals via penalties 5-4 after it had ended in a two-all stalemate.

Yunus Sentamu and Bright Anukani scored for Vipers while oldboy Paul Mucureezi netted for the hosts before spot kicks.

The game is also a repeat of the first round in the league which the Venoms edged, courtesy of an Anukani brace, with Jude Ssemugabi scoring Kitara’s consolation.

Vipers and Kitara have played thrice in the past in the league, with all games ending in victories for the Venoms.

Our last visit to Kitara was in 2021, with Sentamu’s brace and Mucureezi guiding Vipers to a 3-0 win.
