Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers Sports Club have appointed tactician Fred Muhumuza to the technical team as an assistant coach.

Muhumuza joins in to bolster the coaching staff as the team battles to retain both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup trophies.

The Venoms are third in the league with 41 points, while they are also in the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup, where they’ll face Kitara FC in Masindi on Sunday.

Muhumuza’s last managerial role had him at URA FC, which he led in the interim during the first half of the current season, following the demise of Sam Timbe.

That was before he got replaced by their current head coach David Obua.

Muhumuza has also previously been in charge of Tooro Province in the FUFA Drum competition.

He holds a CAF B Coaching Licence, and is expected to get underway with immediate effect.

The youthful tactician is former midfielder at Uganda Premier League side SC Villa and the now-defunct Victors FC.
