The Contest: SC Villa vs. Vipers SC
The Time: 4pm

The new date for the initially postponed clash between reigning champions Vipers SC and SC Villa has been disclosed by the Uganda Premier League secretariat.

The two powerhouses will face off on April 9, 2024 at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, as the race for the championship continues to take shape.

The game, which had been slated for February 24, was postponed upon Villa’s request as they had players with the Uganda U-20 team National team for the African Games in Accra, Ghana.

Uganda emerged silver medalists having lost gold to hosts Ghana in the final in a 1-0 defeat.

Meanwhile, the first round bout between Vipers and Villa ended in a 1-1 stalemate as Gavin Kizito scored for the latter, with Patrick Paul Mbowa netting for the Venoms.

Villa is currently placed fourth on the UPL table with 36 points accumulated in 19 games, while Vipers follow in fifth with 35 points.
