Stanbic Uganda Cup | R64

Monday’s Result

Lugazi Stars FC 1-2 Vipers SC

Vipers SC needed to come from a goal down to beat Lugazi Stars FC 2-1 in the Round of 64 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi on Monday.

Allan Okello netted his first Vipers goal and the winner as the Venoms overcame a tightly contested affair.

Captain, Milton Karisa scored our first in a professional outing on enemy territory.

Lugazi Stars had taken a first half lead through Saidi Khalifan, for an early scare for the Venoms. Khalihan scored with six minutes to end the first half.

The Venoms returned after the break hungry and instantly levelled matters within a minute through a brilliant Karisa strike.

Nine minutes later, Okello put the guests in the lead with a neat header after a brilliant cross from leftback Richard Matovu.

While Lugazi pushed hard for a leveller, Vipers held on to avoid an early upset and net a spot in the Round of 32.
