StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions, Vipers SC, have fortified their midfield by securing the talent of Moses Waiswa Ndhondhi.

A fan favorite, Waiswa has inked a two-year employment contract with the Venoms, extending his commitment to the club until 2026.

The silky-attacking midfielder for the Uganda Cranes is making a comeback to St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, after an absence of nearly five years.

Waiswa departed Vipers in the 2018/19 season for South Africa’s SuperSport United, where he spent three campaigns. He later returned to the country, joining KCCA FC, where he has played for the past one and a half seasons.

Recent numbers

During his recent stint with KCCA, he showcased his skills by featuring in 28 league matches and contributing three goals.

It’s noteworthy that Waiswa left Vipers as a Uganda Premier League champion, clinching the championship in the 2017/18 campaign. In that remarkable season, he was also honoured as the finest male footballer in the country at the 2018 FUFA Awards.

Waiswa not only marks Vipers’ inaugural signing of the January transfer window but also stands as Livingstone Mbabazi’s first-ever acquisition as head coach.

Anticipating a competitive midfield, Waiswa is poised to contend with other standout players, including Karim Watambala, Bright Anukani, Allan Okello, Abubakar Lawal, David Bagoole, Abubakali Walusimbi, among others.

We hope to be hearing from the man himself very soon – watch this space for exclusive Waiswa content.
