The Date: November 10th, 2023
The Contest: KCCA FC vs. Vipers SC
The Time: 7pm
The Venue: MTN Omondi Stadium

Defending Vipers SC will be making a short trip on Friday to Lugogo to take on KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The encounter promises blitz as either side will seek three important points for varying reasons.

Vipers will not only hope to ascend further up the table from third where we currently sit with 14 points, but also play to extend our unbeaten run this season.

KCCA, on the other hand, will be looking for their maiden win of the campaign, having lost five and drawn once in six league matches.

Meanwhile, the Venoms lost 1-0 last season at Lugogo to Rogers Mato’s header, before skipper Milton Karisa completed the revenge in the second leg at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

KCCA and Vipers will be meeting for the 37th time in the league history, and the Venoms have the edge over the Kasasiro Boys.

We have a victory more than Friday’s hosts, having garnered 15 wins, nine draws and suffered 12 losses.

Head-To-Head:

Vipers wins: 15

Draws: 9

Ever since KCCA shifted to the MTN Omondi Stadium in the 2012/13 campaign, there has been a total 11 league meetings, with Vipers counting four wins, two draws and five defeats, with a total of 11 goals against 12.

Overall, out of the 18 meetings between the two teams hosted by KCCA, we have registered seven wins, three draws and eight losses. We have scored 18 goals, conceding 20 in the process.

Our first ever victory over tomorrow’s opponent was registered on September 28th, 2008 in a 3-1 win at Nakivubo stadium, after six previous tries.

Yudah Mugalu scored a brace and one from Samson Ceasar Okhuti ensured the win, while Brian Umony scored KCCA’s only consolation.

We have lost only three league fixtures out of the previous 15 meetings against our opponents since the 2014/15 season.

In that particular spell, Vipers has commanded seven wins, five draws and just three losses, and we’ll try to maintain this recent superiority.
