Eric Kenzo Kambale is hoping to be involved in Vipers’ Uganda Premier League tie against SC Villa on Friday.
The prolific forward is yet to make a first team appearance or debut for the Venoms since joining at the end of the transfer window.
Kambale featured in several friendly games for Vipers during the international break – so could he feature against SC Villa on Friday?
“I hope so,” he said. “We will see what happens but obviously it is what I am working towards.”
Coach Leo Neiva hinted that Kambale is one of his options upfront but won’t be rushed till he feels his fully fit but his part of his plan for the SC Villa and Eric admitted he is ready if called upon.
“I’ve been doing more in recent training sessions and I’m starting to really feel better than when l came,” he said.
“Its been tough training for the past three weeks but I think I’m getting there. You have to be professional, work hard and try and improve every day.
“These guys are helping me and I really enjoy training with them.”
A popular figure among the squad, Kambale has become good friends with Bright Anukani, Karim Watambala and, his former teammates, Martin Kizza and Murushid Juuko.
“Kizza and Juuko have really helped me settle in quickly and they have helped me understand a lot because, obviously we were at Express together!
“It won’t be easy to break into this team, but I’m working hard towards my goal and I want to be a positive influence at the Club, in training and in the dressing room and contribute in whichever way I can.”
