Here’s our latest team news ahead of tomorrow’s match against Mbarara City FC.
Eric Kenzo Kambale
Fitness. Having been out of action for sometime, Kambale still needs some fitness work but he’s in a positive trend – he’s getting better and better. He will be available for the game against SC Villa on October 20 at St Mary’s Stadium.
Allan Okello
Knee injury. Okello had scans carried out before and show that the star boy may not undergo surgery as it was being spread around. Scans show the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and meniscus are all fine but only some wounds in the cartilage that are being treated. It is hoped Okello will be back in full training at the beginning of the second round.
Fumador Asiwome
Strain. The Ghanaian sustained a strain issue during one of our pre-season friendlies and has been unavailable since our CAF Champions League return leg game against Jwaneng Galaxy FC at St Mary’s Stadium on August 26.
Hilary Mukundane
PCL Injury. Hilary Mukundane felt discomfort our game against Jwaneng Galaxy FC in Bostwana on August 21. Further assessments and scans have confirmed that Mukundane damaged his Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL).
A specialist consultation took place and as a result of further discussions with Mukundane and our medical team, it was decided that Mukundane rests for four weeks as other assessments are being carried out.
All other players in the men’s first-team squad are currently fit and available for selection.
