FUFA SUPER 8 QUARTER-FINAL
Thursday Result
BUL FC 1-0 Vipers SC
Vipers SC were at hard-done by the lack of luck in the FUFA Super 8 tournament after getting eliminated by BUL FC.
Samuel Kayongo Sekamatte’s goal at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Thursday ensured that we lost 1-0 and thus exited the eight-team tournament.
We came into the game as the defending champions having won the previous edition in 2019, after beating KCCA FC 2-0.
The first half was a cagey showing that had the hosts sit and defend deep while the guests struggled to break between the walls.
Vipers thought they had broken the deadlock in the 19th minute through new signing Awisone Fumador, only for the goal to be adjudged offside.
Three minutes into the second half, BUL went ahead through Ssekamatte’s penalty after Ashraf Mandela had brought down Reagan Kalyowa in the box.
At the 75th minute-mark, for the second time in the game, the Venoms had the ball in the net, but an offside call was contentiously was made against Abdu Lumala.
Inspite of pushing for an equalizer, the hosts’ defence stayed tall and strong as we crashed out.
