Uganda Premier League

Tuesday’s Result

Vipers SC 5-2 Express FC

Vipers SC picked up a delightful 5-2 victory over Express FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

Two goals from Cromwell Rwothomio and a goal each from Yunus Sentamu, Milton Karisa and Bright Anukani gave us three valuable points to stay top with 49.

Joseph Akandanwaho and Marvin Oshaba scored to give our guests the two consolation goals.

The Venoms, who had dominated proceedings in the early stages of the match, got rewarded after Anukani netted from the spot as Abdu Lumala was fouled in the area in the 15th minute.

Two minutes later, Sentamu made it two as he rounded goalkeeper Abdul Kimera, having received a brilliant pass from Karisa.

In the 40th minute, Express pulled one back through Akandanwaho after a defensive mix-up.

Vipers added a third at the stroke of halftime, with Karisa netting brilliantly having received a through pass from Sentamu.

Express then grabbed their second of the evening, with Oshaba scoring as the Venoms failed to clear a corner.

We then stretched the lead with a fourth, with substitute Rwothomio finishing off a Karisa move, to strike past Kimera in the 81st minute.

Four minutes later Rwothomio added a fifth and his second after an excellent pass from Karim Watambala.

Vipers will keep the league chase with a trip to BUL FC next Tuesday at the Fufa Technical Center, Njeru.
