Uganda Premier League
Friday’s Result
Onduparaka FC 0-0 Vipers SC
Vipers assumed top-spot despite a goalless stalemate with Onduparaka FC in the Uganda Premier League, on Friday at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium, Arua.
We moved to 46 points at the summit, with a better goal difference over each of SC Villa and KCCA FC who are third and second respectively, with the same tally.
Yunus Sentamu, returning from injury, had a great chance to break the deadlock but he failed to make a perfect connection with Isa Mubiru’s cross in the early stages of the match.
Karim Watambala then had his long range shot tipped on the crossbar then out, by Onduparaka’s custodian Norman Angifindru as we built a sustained period of pressure.
Sentamu was later again in the second half denied by a superb reflex save by the hosts’ goalkeeper.
Defender, Hillary Mukundane then had a goal hit the back of the net, but adjudged for offside by the linesman, as both sides settled for a point..
The Venoms will return to action against Express FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.
