UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
The Date: May 9th, 2023
The Contest: Soltilo Bright Stars FC vs. Vipers SC
The Time: 2pm
The Venue: Kavumba Recreation Ground
As the games come in thick and fast, Vipers SC will make a trip to take on Soltilo Bright Stars FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
The Venoms have a chance of making it to the top of the table, should they avoid defeat.
On 45 points in second, we are just one adrift of leaders SC Villa, who have played two games more, with a weaker goal difference.
However, head coach Alex Isabirye is fully aware of the threat posed by the hosts, but insists his team is only focused on picking maximum points.
“We are facing a team that has been getting the results, that has good coaches and a team that works as a group,” said Isabirye to the club media.
“They have players that work as a unit so I know, it won’t be easy but we are trying to see that we get three points for whichever game we play,” he added.
“The players know very well that three points is my only request and l always tell them to go out there and do their best for three points,” Isabirye noted.
It ended in a goalless draw when the two met in the first round at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Isabirye rubished any doubts of an unavailability of skipper Milton Karisa, asserting he’s in line to feature.
“He limped off after doing his job (against KCCA) after a slight knock, but he is now ready to play.”
While fixtures between the pair are almost always tightly contested, Vipers has not lost a league game to Bright Stars since 2013.
We have emerged victorious on 10 occasions, with the other right ending in stalemates.
Yunus Sentamu scored the only goal of the game when the two sides met last season at tomorrow’s ground.
- Vipers and Soltilo Brigh Stars will be meeting for the 19th time in the league with the Venoms superior having won 10 times, drawn 8 and without any loss in the previous 18 encounters, we have scored 19 goals against 5.
