UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
The Date: May 2nd, 2023
The Contest: Vipers SC vs. Gaddafi FC
The Time: 7pm
The Venue: St Mary’s Stadium

Following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to SC Villa, Vipers SC will be rooting for a quick turnaround of fortunes when they host Gaddafi FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Tuesday.

Skipper Milton Karisa expects his-led troops to make a fight, grind and pick maximum points under the floodlights.

“A successful season is how we respond to disappointment,” started Karisa while speaking to Vipers Media.

“We have to respond quickly because we have tricky fixtures ahead of us,” he added.

Vipers, before the Saturday blip, had registered three victories in five games, including two stalemates, a relatively good return.

“We had a very strong run before Saturday so we just want to continue that. We need to respond strongly and immediately. Tomorrow gives us a chance and we are hopeful.”

Victory for the Venoms will take them to 42 points in third. We also have three games in hand, which could reignite our title fight.

In the reverse fixture in the first round, we lost 1-0 in Jinja, courtesy of Alex Kitata’s early goal.

However, we ran out comfortable 2-0 winners last season when the two sides met at the St Mary’s Stadium thanks to a Cesar Manzoki brace.

Team News:

Defender Livingstone Mulondo won’t be involved for some weeks. He’s still feeling groggy following his mild concussion against SC Villa.

Apart from long term absentees; Murushid Juuko, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Yunus Sentamu and Alfred Mudekereza, Isabirye has a fully fit squad to choose from his 18 match day squad.
