It is with great shock that I learnt of the untimely death of one of Uganda’s greatest sports administrators of all time, the late John Mutenda.
The deceased will always be remembered as an excellent football manager, a respected administrator, a patriot and mentor to many.
His death is a huge loss and my heartfelt condolence goes to the family, KCCA FC and the entire football fraternity.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
The club has contributed UGX 1,000,000= (One Million shillings only) to assist in the burial arrangements.

Mutenda, the charismatic gentleman
The veteran sports administrator, John Mutenda, died on Wednesday this week at the age of 73.
Mutenda served as KCCA FC vice chairman through some of the club’s most challenging periods in the 90s and 2000s.
Though he was never the club chairman, KCCA bestowed the title of ‘life chairman’ on to him.
He was a prominent fan before being invited to the club executive as committee member by then-chairman Jack Ibaale Snr (RIP) in 1987.
