Vipers SC will make a short trip to the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku in a Uganda Premier League clash with table leaders SC Villa on Saturday.

The two sides are separated by a four-point gap; Vipers sit third with 39 points after 20 games, which is three less than Villa who have played 23 times.

“They lead the table and they’re at home so, the game won’t be easy,” our head coach, Alex Isabirye said in his interview with Vipers’ media.

“They have a good set of coaches, good players so it will be a difficult one,” he added.

“We have also been preparing well and we shall go there and put up a good perfomance, because we need those three points,” Isabirye added.

“Both teams have good players so it will go down to how how well the players are mentally,” Isabirye noted.

Skipper Milton Karisa re-echoed the gaffer’s words asserting that the team will fight for everything for maximum points.

“It will not be an easy game because we are playing a team currently on the top of the table,” he said.

“But, we are very well prepared and we are going there for the win, because we really need three points.”

“We need to win this game for us, our club, our fans. We need to make our fans proud and we are ready to go and fight.”

Vipers were comfortable 2-0 winners in the first round at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, with Yunus Sentamu and Karim Watambala steering the party.

Since the 2012/13 season, the sides have met 21 times in the league, with the Venoms taking the largest share of victories.

We have registered 10 compared to Villa’s four. Seven matches in that time have ended in stalemates.

Tomorrow’s bout will make it 35 meetings between the two in the league, with the Venoms commanding a lions share statistically.
