UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

Saturday’s Result

Vipers SC 1-1 URA FC

Vipers SC played out a nervy Uganda Premier League one-all draw with URA FC under the St Mary’s Stadium floodlights, on Saturday.

The guests got the opener in the 13th minute through a shot from Patrick Paul Mbowa that took a deflection on the way to beat our goal-minder Fabien Mutombora.

The Venoms leveled through a Karim Ndugwa shot, having capitalised on a mistake by goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi plus a defensive mixup.

A second in the 37th minute nearly fell our way, but Abubakar Lawal’s header from Isa Mubiru’s cross went wide.

We then had a good chance in the 74th minute, only for Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye’s shot from outside the box to sail over the crossbar.

With the result, we stayed in third with 36 points and will return to action on Tuesday against Arua Hill SC at Barifa Stadium.
