UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Saturday’s Result
Vipers SC 2-0 Blacks Power FC
Vipers Sports Club made a hugely needed return to winning ways following a comfortable 2-0 win over Blacks Power FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.
As each of Karim Ndugwa and Martin Kizza were netting their maiden goals for the Venoms, we hit third on the log with 32 points, 11 behind SC Villa who top the table but have as well played four games more.
On a positive evening, the Venoms were unlucky not to be ahead by the third minute as Abubakar Lawal had his shot agonizingly kiss the post before goalkeeper Tonny Kyamera collected the ball.
However, in the tenth minute we went ahead as Ndugwa opened his account for Vipers with a brilliant header into the corner.
As halftime loomed large, Kizza also got his first for the club with a pile-driver that beat Kyamera for the evening’s second.
The second stanza was a show of finishing off the job for Alex Isabirye’s charges, who controlled proceedings to the end.
It was however unpleasing news for our goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu, who suffered a concussion before getting withdrawn for Fabien Mutombora.
We will make our next league appearance on April 19th with an away tie to UPDF FC.
