Vipers Sports Club, do hereby, confirm that versatile midfielder Paul Mucureezi has left the club following the expiry of his contract.

The affable Mucureezi joined the Venoms in 2019 from his boyhood side Mbarara City FC and went on to be a huge success with us.

Paul Mucureezi won two StarTimes Uganda Premier League titles with us.

The 29 year-old leaves after helping the Kitende-based side to two StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) titles in 2019-20 and the 2021-22 campaigns.

The free-spirited goal-scorer also clinched the 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup, helping the club to a massive 8-1 victory over Jinja-based BUL FC in the final.

At his time at the home of champions – St Mary’s Stadium – Kitende, the industrious forward went on to establish himself as fans’ favourite, not only for his dazzling performances, but also his calm demeanor and charisma.

Heartwarming message

Following the official announcement of his departure, Mucureezi posted the message below on his social media accounts to express his gratitude to the club President, coaches and players he has worked with, and for the overwhelming support from the ever-growing Venoms fan-base countrywide.

“A big thank you to Vipers SC fraternity. My President, Manager, coaches, fellow footballers and the fans. I thank you for the opportunity given to me to be part of the great team. Like any great team, you encouraged me, assisted me, and made me better at what we do. Thank you for sharing the wins and losses, the triumphs and the tribulations. Working with you has been a true privilege. I am leaving you with a grateful heart.”
