UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
The Date: December 20, 2022
The Contest: Busoga Utd v Vipers SC
The Time: 4pm
The Venue: Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru
In a bid to end the StarTimes Uganda Premier League first round on a high note, Vipers SC will be keen to put up a strong display against Busoga United on Tuesday.
We head into the tie on the back of recent uncharacteristic results having won just two of the past four matches, and, skipper Milton Karisa has rallied his troops to show more character going forward.
On the reasons for Vipers inconsistency this month…
“I think if it was one easy fix you’d know and you’d fix it. Obviously, to be a successful football team, there are so many little things you need to do well,” he spoke to the club media on Monday.
“And, at this moment in time, we’re not doing enough of those consistently enough. We have shown very good performances this year, but we haven’t had that consistency this month and that’s something we need to improve.”
On Vipers’ current confidence levels…
“I think the next game is always the one we focus on and one where you can start a good run and get that consistency and confidence back.”
“I think the performances we have had, some very good performances this year as well, [so] we know it’s not too far off, but it’s important we keep delivering every game.”
“It has been an intense start to the season, it has been quite hard to get the rhythm with a few players being out and not getting a settled line-up. That is something we have to deal with – and deal with better,” noted Karisa.
“The beauty of having so many games in such a short space of time, it is a great chance for us to go out there and start putting it right,” he concluded.
The bout at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru will see the Venoms take on a side with which they hold absolute dominion.
In the past 11 meetings since 2016, we have had eight victories, lost just once as two games ended in stalemates.
