UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Saturday’s Result
Vipers SC 2-1 BUL FC
Vipers SC put up a spirited display as they defeated BUL FC 2-1 in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday, at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Skipper Milton Karisa levelled matters after Karim Ndugwa had broken the deadlock for the visitors. Cromwell Rwothomio then scored our second, and his first in the Venom colours since joining at the start of the season.
The result lifted Vipers to 27 points in second on the table, only two behind KCCA FC.
The visitors found the opener in the 15th minute, through Ndugwa’s long range shot past goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora.
We found the equaliser in the 21st minute through a rebound from Karisa, after Keni had saved Bright Anukani’s snap-shot.
In the 34th minute, we then led for the first time in the match as Rwothomio controlled an Anukani pass before firing past Keni.
We then missed a chance to make it three, as Anukani’s penalty was saved by Keni, following a foul on Karisa.
The Venoms yet again missed to extend their lead at the hour-mark, as Rwothomio’s long range shot went off the target by a whisker.
The latter yet again missed another excellent chance as he headed wide a superb Karisa cross with seven minutes to go.
In the 88th minute, Karisa missed another huge chance as his shot was saved well by Keni, following an exquisite through ball from substitute Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye.
Vipers will return to action on Tuesday, December 20th against Busoga United for the final first round match.
