UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Sunday’s Result
Gaddafi FC 1-0 Vipers SC
Vipers lost their second match of the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Gaddafi FC on Sunday.
Alex Kitata struck early in the first half at the Kakindu Stadium to grant the hosts maximum points.
We will rue bad luck after failing to convert a number of goalscoring opportunities in either half.
Both Karim Watambala and Hillary Mukundane were superbly denied by the excellent custodian Joel Mutakubwa in the opening stanza.
We would have found the equaliser at least in the second half, but Mutakubwa was at his absolute best when he drew a top class save to deny substitute, Najib Yiga’s strike in the 75th minute.
The result has left us third with 20 points, and we will look to bounce back quickly when we host Onduparaka FC next week on Wednesday at St Mary’s Stadium.
How We Lined Up:
Vipers SC XI: Alfred Macumu Mudekereza (GK), Ashraf Mandela, Isa Mubiru, Hilary Mukundane, Murushid Juuko, Siraje Ssentamu, Karim Watambala, Bright Anukani, Milton Karisa (C), Cromwel Rwothomio, Ibrahim Orit
