UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Tuesday’s Result
Vipers SC 2-0 SC Villa
Vipers SC were comfortable 2-0 victors over SC Villa in a Tuesday Uganda Premier League encounter at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Yunus Sentamu and Karim Watambala were both on target as the Venoms hit second place, with 20 points in nine games this season.
On the evening, we exerted ourselves huge on the game right from the first minute to the end, as the team not only controlled possession but also had more chances for a bigger scoreline.
Our skipper Milton Karisa was twice denied by custodian Meddie Kibirige, as Sentamu also missed the target by a few inches in the 35th minute.
The prolific marksman had however found the opener in the 20th minute, latching on to a loose ball after the visitors had failed to clear their lines.
In the second stanza, Villa were reduced to 10 men as Davis Sekajja received a red card for a reckless foul on Karisa.
Villa’s Charles Baale and Travis Mutyaba then tested our goalkeeper Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, but the Congolese excellently denied them twice.
We then netted the second through Watambala’s pile-driver, from outside the box with a minute to go and seal three points.
In our next encounter, we will visit Jinja-based side Gadaffi FC on Sunday, December 4th, 2022.
