STARTIMES UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
Match: URA FC v Vipers SC
Date: November 26th, 2022
Time: 4pm | Live On Sanyuka Prime
Venue: Nakisunga Grounds
Vipers SC will look to extend their recent impressive form when they lock-horns with URA FC in the Uganda Premier League, at the Nakisunga Saza Grounds on Saturday.
The Venoms have picked four victories in the past five matches, including a dominant 4-0 win over UPDF FC last time out.
Our head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho is optimistic his charges can put up a proper show to assume all points.
“We have prepared well this week and I have another day to try and make a decision for the starting eleven,” the Brazilian spoke to Vipers Media on Friday.
“It will not be an easy game away because the pitch is not good, but I think we’re ready to play well and win.”
“I respect my opponent but my objective is three points. We have to keep the consistency in the championship and this is the most important thing,” he added.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be 36th since 2006 when we joined the top-flight division. We have won seven, drawn 12 and lost 16 with a return of 37 goals against 39.
Head-To-Head:
Meetings: 35
Vipers wins: 07
Draws: 12
Losses: 16
Goals for: 32
Against: 39
Points: 32
Our first ever victory over URA occurred on April 28th, 2011 in a 2-1 win after 11 fruitless attempts.
Meanwhile, there has been 17 meetings between the two teams at the Tax Collectors’ home, with the Venom registering four wins, eight draws and five losses. In the process, we have scored 19 goals and conceded 20.
In the previous seven matches hosted by the Taxmen, we command only two wins, two draws, with three, scoring 12 goals against 12.
Last 7 meetings away at URA FC
2015/16: URA 3-2 Vipers
2016/17: URA 1-1 Vipers
2017/18: URA 0-1 Vipers
2018/19: URA 1-1 Vipers
2019/20: URA 3-1 Vipers
2020/21: URA 2-1 Vipers
2021/22: URA 0-3 Vipers
Of all the 16 teams playing in Uganda’s top flight division currently, it’s only URA which holds a better head to head against the Venoms, as they almost always inflict misery on us irrespective of form.
However, the corresponding encounter at the Arena of Visions last season, ended in a 3-0 win for the Venoms courtesy of Halid Lwaliwa, Yunus Sentamu and Cesar Manzoki.
Team News:
Robertinho has reported no fresh injury concerns following last week’s game against UPDF.
Former URA forward Cromwel Rwothomio returns after days off last week to attend to family matters.
Goalkeeper Fabien Mutombora is also back in training after representing his country Burundi in two international friendlies in Morocco.
Abdu Lumala, Paul Mucureezi and Livingstone Mulondo will continue to stay on the sidelines through respective injuries.
