Vipers SC will have to wait a little longer to know their CAF Champions League group stage opponents, after the continental footballing governing body postponed the draws.

16 teams, Vipers inclusive were bound to know their group placements today, Wednesday 16th, November 2022 but have now been pushed to a later (yet-to-be identified) date.

“The CAF Interclub Group Stages draw for TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup has been postponed,” confirmed a CAF communication on Tuesday.

“The draw was initially scheduled for Wednesday, 16 November 2022.”

“A new date and time will be announced in due course,” it concluded.

The Venoms made the coveted group stages after eliminating five-time champions TP Mazembe in the final qualification round, courtesy of a 4-2 penalty shootout victory.

Initially, the St Mary’s Kitende side had dumped Olympic Real De Bangui in the first preliminary round, via a 4-0 aggregate.

The other teams that made it to the stages include Al Ahly, Wydad AC, AS Vita, Raja Casablanca, Esperance de Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns and Zamalek.

Others are Petro du Luanda, Horoya, Simba SC, CR Belouzidad, JS Kabylie, Al Hilal, Al-Merrikh, and Coton Sport.
