UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE

Tuesday’s Result

Vipers SC 1-0 Arua Hill SC

Vipers SC picked a second successive victory in a 1-0 beating of Arua Hill SC in the Uganda Premier League, on Tuesday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Milton Karisa’s lone strike was enough to induce what was also our third win of the season in six matches, to hit fifth with 11 points.

After a cagey start, we hit top gears and should have broken the deadlock in the 12th minute, but Yunus Sentamu’s effort was cleared off the line by defender Rashid Muhammad.

In the 19th minute, we netted the opener, with Karisa superbly chipping away an exquisite through ball from Bright Anukani.

We were then denied a second as Hilary Mukundane’s header was cleared off the line, following a corner from Anukani.

In the 30th minute, we were forced into an early substitution as right-back Ashraf Mandela got stretchered off, after what looked a bad head injury.

We yet again threatened in the 69th minute as Karisa shot wide after another brilliant through ball from Anukani.

The two were at it again, with Anukani serving the sauce, but Karisa’s shot was cleared off the line by the visitors’ captain Rashid Toha.

We will return to action on Friday against UPDF FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in what promises to be another pulsating encounter.
