Uganda Premier League
Friday Result:
Vipers SC 3-0 Maroons FC
Vipers SC impressively beat Maroons FC 3-0 for the first win of season, on Friday (November 5) at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Skipper Milton Karisa and Yunus Sentamu’s brace were enough for the Venoms to sink the Prison Warders.
Karisa scored off a rebound in the 20th minute after Maroons goalkeeper Simon Tamale had saved Bright Anukani’s power-packed freekick.
A few minutes later, custodian Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, was called into action with super gloverwork to deny Fredrick Kigozi’s stinging shot.
Five minutes after the hour mark, Sentamu doubled the lead with a superb no-look flick off impressive Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye well-weighted freekick.
In the 66th minute, Sentamu completed his pair with a low but powerful drive past Tamale after beautiful vision from Karisa.
Five minutes later, Sentamu should have sealed his hattrick on what was a brilliant evening, but his shot was intercepted by the on-rushing Patrick Bayiga, as the Venoms settled for an authoritative 3-0 victory.
After this result, we moved up the table to 12th on four points, and we will take on Wakiso Giants FC on Tuesday, November 08th, 2022 in the next match.
