UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE
SATURDAY’S RESULT
KCCA FC 1-0 Vipers SC
Vipers SC narrowly lost 1-0 to KCCA FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday, for our first defeat of the Uganda Premier League season, but also the only one across all competitions.
Despite a spirited display from the team, it was quite not enough for the Venoms on the tense evening in the capital.

KCCA began off with quite the edge, and got the only goal of the evening through Rogers Mato’s headed effort in the fifth minute.
Five minutes later, we almost found a quick response but, Darcy Mbaka Kipoyi’s powerful shot missed the target by a few inches.

It was quite edgey towards the end of the first half, with the Venoms fighting hard, yet without great goalscoring chances.
We started off the second half on a positive note, and should have grabbed the equaliser two minutes after restart, but Livingstone Mulondo’s header from Bright Anukani’s freekick sailed a few inches wide.

Three minutes later, Hilary Mukundane thought he had found the leveller, but it was only wide by a whisker.
We didn’t stop the fight and nearly found what would have been a deserved goal but Karisa’s header missed the target again, following Ashraf Mandela’s cross, as the hosts held deep in their half to see out their win.

We have only played two games this season and will not be in action again, till November 4th, 2022 against Maroons FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
