With the U-20 CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the AFCON moments away, Uganda has had a 33-man provisional squad named.

As the case has been in the past, we yet again have a notable contribution to the national team at various levels.

Among the named team is four players from either Vipers SC or our feeder side, St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende (SMASK).

The quartet includes Frank Katongole, Hakim Mutebi from SMASK and Vipers’ prospect Ivan Asaba.

The three will be among the team that will kick-start residential training on Wednesday.

The Zonal Qualifiers will start on October 22nd, 2022 in Sudan with Uganda’s Hippos keen on emulating their excellent 2020 feat.

Two years ago, they clinched silver after hitting but losing the final to Ghana by 2-0.
